How to get to the Campus from the city centre?

By taxi

Taxis are not very expensive in Málaga, and they may become a very good option to move around, specially if you share them. The usual taxi fare for taking you from the city center to the University campus (or the other way round) is about 8€ (the trip takes 15 minutes aprox).

By bus

The campus can be easily reached from the city centre by bus. Public buses (lines 20) take you to the campus from the city center (main bus stop: "Alameda Principal"). Average commuting time is about 20 minutes from the city center, and buses run every 15 minutes.

By car

Taking you own car, or hiring one, is a sensible option if you plan to stay around before or after the meeting, and visit the rest of Málaga province (Ronda, Nerja, Marbella, ...) and Andalucía (Granada, Córdoba, Sevilla, ...).

Connections to the airport

There are connections by train, bus and taxi to/from Malaga downtown, where the hotel is.

By taxi

Taxis are the easiest and most convenient transportation method to/from the airport. The fare from the airport to and from the city center is about 20€ (excluding extras: Sundays, late at night, extra baggage, etc.)

By train

The train station is outside the airport building. Trains run every 30 min between the airport and the city center. Journey time: around 12 minutes. Take the direction Málaga (not Fuengirola), until the terminal station ("Málaga Renfe - Vialia"). Price: between 1,2 and 3,0 Euros. I

mportant: you should buy a ticket before getting on the train, otherwise you will be liable to a penalty for travelling without one; there is an automated ticket machine at the airport train station that accepts (Euro) coins and notes, as well as credit cards.

By bus

There is a bus (service No. 19) connecting the airport with the city center (more precisely, the train station), that runs every 30 minutes. It is an urban bus, so be prepared if you have a lot of luggage. Price: around 1€. Journey time: around 30 min.
