3. Agenda
- The first two days were
dedicated to group discussions and presentations, and the third day to
identifying joint work opportunities based on each group’s interests and
background. Finally, in the last day we summarized the decisions taken
during the meeting, and fixed the final working plan. The detailed agenda
of the meeting follows.

ongoing tasks, that also depend on the results of other tasks (e.g., the
software development methodology to be proposed after the completion of
the project).

This list
covers te tasks to be carried out by T4’s participants during the first year, in
a realistic way, i.e., we all think they can be achieved with a reasonable
effort from all participants. It also tries to combine participants according
to their particular interests and backgrounds, so proper joint collaborations
are feasible during the first year.
5. Joint publications
The
following list of joint papers from the previous task list was initially
agreed:
- UML for Software architecture.
Proposal to OMG. Deadline: August 20, 2001.
- Extension of UML for SA. To be
prepared for the UML’2002 Conference. Deadline: March 2002.
- Extension of LI’s COTS trader
to deal with NFRs. To be prepared for WER’01. Deadline: 2/7/01 [J].
In
addition, each task in the table above is expected to produce a publication
after completion, with the accomplished results.
6. Thesis
- At least Luis Iribarne’s PhD thesis
could be defended under the auspices of the WEST project. It is initially
scheduled for the first semester of 2003.
7. Further decisions
The
following list of further decisions were taken during the meeting:
- The common case study for joint
works/preparing papers is “Amazon”, which constitutes a well-known example
of an e-commerce application on the Web.
- It is convenient for WEST
participant to schedule the defenses of master thesis taking into account
the agenda of visits arranged for this project.
8. Visits
The
following list of tentative visits was agreed:
- A course on frameworks and/or
modeling in Valparaiso
- A visit of a student from
Valparaiso to Malaga/Sevilla
- A visit of a student from
Recife to Malaga/Valencia
- A visit of a student from Spain
to Recife/Valparaiso
The exact dates and details of these visits will be fixed at the Cartagena de Indias WEST meeting, in August’01.
