Brief Curriculum

Lidia Fuentes is an Associate Professor at the Languages and Computer Science department of the Málaga University since 1993. She received a M.Sc degree in Computer Science in 1992 and the Doctor degree in 1998 from the same University.

She has attended several courses and seminars about software engineering and telecommunications. Besides, she has participated in several international conferences as a speaker, reviewer, and chairman. Her most significant publications
can be found in international journals from ACM and IEEE.

She has actively participated in many research projects and also she has done consulting activities in telecommunication companies such as Telefónica and Retevisión.

Research interests


We have implemented a complete extensible compositional framework called MultiTEL
(Multimedia TELecommunication services) for the derivation of multimedia telecommunication
services for the Web. The advantage of using MultiTEL is that the development time of multimedia
services will be significatively shorten. MultiTEL component model separates the concerns of
computation and coordination (i.e. components and connectors). This framework is developed in Java.
