To a great extent , multicriteria features determine the dynamics of design processes. From this departing idea, we propose the application of new techniques of multiobjective heuristic search, recently developed by our group, to the analysis of the processes of problem solving and transformation in the field of architectural design. More concretely, the following two related goals are proposed:
a) The computational modeling of real-world architectural problems, specially spatial and functional distributions in both housing buildings and environments for tourism, business and industrial activities.
b) The development and implementation of software tools for decision support, based on efficient techniques of multiobjective heuristic search and the models of architectural design previously defined. The tools so developed will be aimed to support both professional architectural designers and students of the subject "Architectural Projects", of paramount importance in university curricula for architects.
